How did the idea for the business originate?

The firm grew from the internal expertise of the management team in financial services regulation and technology. Many asset managers and FinTechs are focused on one core idea, and the provision of support services from compliance to operations allows them to focus on playing to their strengths. By providing support to FS firms, RiskSave not only improves processes, it can add stability and save cost.

Do you have customers yet? If not, how far into your business lifecycle are you?

Twenty customers and growing rapidly. A diverse customer base includes, fintechs, hedge funds, private equity and even a specialist law firm.

How have you funded your growth to date?

A seed round completed in 2015 has been sufficient to take the firm to profitability. We now rely on internally generated capital.

What would a successful year look like for you?

A diverse customer base and our first annual profit. Fingers crossed, it looks like we’ve achieved this.

Outside of your own business, which start up do you admire the most and why? 

Revolut and Monzo have done an amazing job of showing that if you get the Digital Experience right then users will come to you.
