How did the idea for the business originate?
There are approximately 20k regulated banks & 100k Financial Institutions (unregulated) globally.

Banks need an API Management platform for compliance (e.g. EU PSD2) & Open Banking initiatives. Unregulated entities follow this trend closely & in several cases preempt it, to gain a foothold in the era of Open Marketplace Financial Services.

aplonAPI™ is a solution in a box – already encapsulating an amount of the necessary customization for our clients. Thus it facilitates the digital / Open Banking inclusion of organizations which would otherwise struggle to undertake such an endeavor & empowers them to focus on devising a successful business model, rather than getting lost in the technicalities of establishing their API presence.

Do you have customers yet? If not, how far into your business lifecycle are you?
aplonAPI™ has already been installed, in more than a dozen institutions, across EU for PSD2 / Open banking projects.

How have you funded your growth to date?
We are self-funded. Any funding raised by investments will be used to further develop the technology/solution & aggressively expand globally (through marketing, participation in global events & establishment of more local resellers).

What would a successful 2018 look like for you?
2018 is already successful for us!
